Tallahassee Racquetball
Last Thursday I arrived in Tallahassee, Florida. Dr. Tim Baghurst is now working at Florida State University, so I got the chance to visit the university, train with him, give racquetball lessons, and play a shootout over the weekend.
We had five people come to the clinic on Friday and did two one-on-one lessons on Saturday. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the game and seeing these players improve so quickly on the things we worked on.
The shootout was played on Sunday. It had racquetball, squash, and squash 57 divisions! The local players were very welcoming, the competition was tough, and we had a great time playing for hours.
One of my highlights was meeting and playing against Fabian Balmori, a former Team Venezuela player and two-time Central American and Caribbean Games champion!
Another favorite moment of mine happened in doubles. Tim and I came back from 8-10 and won our match in a tie breaker!
I want to thank Andrew Kapec for organizing the clinics and tournament, the players for participating, and Tim and Terra-Leigh Baghurst for welcoming me in their home once again. I look forward to coming back to Tallahassee again soon!

Tallahassee Racquetball
El jueves pasado llegué a Tallahassee, Florida. El Dr. Tim Baghurst está trabajando en Florida State University, así que tuve la oportunidad de conocer la universidad, entrenar con él, dar clases de racquet y jugar un torneo durante el fin de semana.
Tuvimos cinco personas en la clínica de racquet el viernes y dos personas en clases privadas el sábado. Disfruté compartiendo mis conocimientos del racquet y viendo a estos jugadores mejorar en lo que trabajamos.
El torneo lo jugamos el domingo. Hubo divisiones de racquet, squash y squash 57. Los jugadores locales nos recibieron amablemente, la competencia fue intensa y la pasamos muy bien jugando por horas.
¡Uno de mis momentos preferidos fue conocer y jugar contra Fabian Balmori, quien estuvo en el equipo de Venezuela y fue campeón de los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe en dos ocasiones!
Otro de mis momentos favoritos sucedió en dobles. ¡Tim y yo ganamos nuestro partido en el tercer set luego de salvar el último punto cuando íbamos abajo 8-10!
Gracias a Andrew Kapec por organizar las clínicas y el torneo, a los jugadores que participaron y a Tim y Terra-Leigh Baghurst por darme la bienvenida en su hogar nuevamente. Espero poder regresar a Tallahassee pronto.
